Many people think in order to be organized, you have to do a whole room at once and block out your entire day (or month!) and when you are done, you are all set. But the truth is, organized people don’t just do an initial “organize session.” They do little bits each day at maintaining the organization! For example, last night while cooking dinner and waiting for the water to boil, I opened this drawer in our kitchen to make a note to myself 🤦🏼‍♀️ it is the most used “get into” drawer.. (if you can’t tell 😳) I knew I had 5 minutes while waiting for my next step in dinner, so I decided to conquer it real quick. I emptied it all out, categorized them quickly into piles, (also a great opportunity to wipe out the drawer real quick!) and put them back just before it was time for the next step in dinner! (Also- Unused small kitchen containers work great as drawer dividers!) You can even get the kids involved! For drawers like this, give one child the job of sharpening all the pencils, and the other testing pens and markers to make sure they still work! 👍🏼 . . . Some things you have organized before will get messy again. If you want to stay organized, you need to make sure you are taking a few minutes here and there and “reset” the space! (And the more often you do it- the faster the reset is!) Every little bit counts towards a more organized life. You don’t need to make it a big deal to try and organize your home. Is my life always perfectly organized 100 percent of the time? Hint- look at the before picture) nope! It’s a continuous process. One session of organizing won’t last for a lifetime. I have done this drawer several times over. And I know it will get messy again in the future. It’s life! But even doing a drawer a day is enough to maintain your sanity and an all around tidy home- one that is organized and stress free!

Hi everyone! 🙋🏼‍♀️ Wowza- it’s been a hot minute since I have posted on here! 😳 How is everyone’s summer so far? I can’t believe our summer ends in exactly a WEEK! It went by SO fast! Maybe that’s because we had a lot of fun marking off things we did on our summer bucket list! One of my favorites was doing a staycation here in AZ with my crew! Since it isn’t 115 gazillion degrees outside here yet in good ol’ sunny AZ- I decided it was time the kids play @ikeausa kitchen got a little makeover! I love how it is turning out!! Took a break this past weekend from decorating and organizing to celebrate my little SEVEN year old! Something I love doing almost as much as my day job, is party planning! 🥰🥰 The birthday girl had a BLAST at her paw-ty! We invited all the girls from her class at school (and a few of their siblings tagged along too!) I tied in the food with the theme and we even had a HOT DOG bar! Our games consisted of things you do with dogs- first, they adopted one to take home. (They picked their dog, added a collar, named it and filled out a certificate!) Next, we talked about how they need to eat (enter cocoa puff eating contest here 🤗) we also talked about training your dog. this was followed up with a nice game of “Dog Trainer Says” (Simon says but with dog moves.. bark, chase your tail, roll over, etc.) And with every dog owner, comes great responsibility. PICKING UP THEIR POOP! Before the party, I printed and taped poop emojis to candy and planted them all over the backyard. I gave each person a “doggie poop bag” to pick up the “poop” 😂 I don’t think I have ever seen kids that excited to pick up dog poop! 🙌🏻 Lastly, we remembered it is important to PLAY with your pup! So we did a few different relay races involving Scooby snacks and a tennis ball and frisbee. We finished the party off with cake and presents! This one will for sure go down in the books!
